artists featured on our audio stream or on this web site. All music
featured on our audio stream has been provided to PHC Radio by the
artist or a representative for the artist or purchased for airplay on
PHC Radio for promotional benefit to the artist and the Punk community
at large.
All artists, labels and those hired to represent them which
provide promotional materials to PHC Radio agree to waive all rights to
fees derived from the broadcast of this material on our audio streams
or by featuring this material on our web site.
PHC Radio is not an MP3 site. We do not offer downloads of music or a
pay audio or video streams. We do not sell or distribute audio
recordings.
All requests to have recordings, images, photographs and other
promotional material removed from our audio stream or web site

In both band areas I link the bands name to the bands webpage this way it makes it easy for you to look up bands you like. Every band we play on PHC Radio is in our bands area unless I am still adding them, as much of the oldschool bands are not listed yet.
Looking for that hard to find Cd then look in our links to friends area & Banners or bands areas. By the links you are able to find more on the bands and CD's to buy.
PHC Radio goes on hiatus every summer with
adding bands to the radio and webpage from Outside Canada. From May until Aug end we take time off sometimes longer like me this past fall lol. We will still add bands from Canada during this time we just move slow.
How can I get my gigs posted in the PHC Radio gigs area? #

What Player should I use to listen to the radio? And link too Winamp Download page #
We recommend using Winamp, as that is what we use to broadcast with.
Real Player, MediaJukebox, Musicmatch, Quicktime, Itunes,
also work. If you want to use Windows Media Player,
you must use the special link as it takes a special feed to work.
Also with winamp you can bookmark the radio station once
you are tuned in. Just look in file @ the top of winamp and you will see play bookmark highlight that hit the add current as
bookmark its that easy. Winamp will give you the most info on band playing etc.The main upside to the winamp bookmark is if the
web page is ever down you can still tune into PHC Radio.

Buffing ??? Radio Dead WTF?? #
The stream says it's buffing? Why does the music cut in and out? Why is the radio down?
Buffing is a huge pain in the butt at times. Sometimes we can fix it if its from our end. But it can also be from
YOUR NET connection or computer as well and YOU are the only one getting buffing.
We recommend restarting the stream by re-clicking the listen
link. Or turn off winamp and turn it back on.If you have programs open close some of them.Also try a defrag and then reboot.
But if its from your net or our connections you cant fix it. And you just have to check back as your or our net connection will fix
its self in time. We run the radio on two internet providers and one stream provider in order to keep our end stable.
When the music cuts in and out that is buffing.
It is the internet stuff goes on we have no control on :{ We run PHC Radio on Three different internet providers and 2 computers
in order to stop dead air time and buffing.The computers PHC Radio run on are defragged and rebooted every 24hr.
But like I said shit can happen we have no control on if the radio is down or buffing bad just check back another time if the fixes I listed do not work.
PHC Radio is playing but no sound? #
Its a bad Mp3 email us the band name and song so we can fix it. If we see it we will fix it if not then after the bad mp3 is over the next song will kick in.
Does PHC Radio make any money?? #
LOL Hell no we frign wish sometimes but no we do NOT make money from PHC Radio.We do this for the bands and to open people up to old and new bands. We pay ourself to make PHC Radio run and make no money on it. I call it our expensive hobby lol.
Who does PHC Radio?? #
The first year of PHC Radio back in 2005, it was five people who started it and it was a one year test. By the time the year was up it was only Frekwalda and I who wanted to keep it going so we did. As it was a good idea and it showed it would work in less then a year. We dont make money on PHC Radio but we do spend money to make it work. I call PHC Radio our expensive hobby , we do it for old and new bands and to open people up to old and new bands.
I am SK8 from PHC Radio my jobs are station manager, web master and some other shit.
Frekwalda is the other half of PHC Radio his jobs are program director, dealing w/ bands and some other shit.
Frekwalda and I are are not only married to the radio but we are also married to each other.
When and how did PHC Radio start? #
April 30 2006 : History on PHC Radio for the first year April 2005-2006
PHC Radio is not a job we make no money off PHC Radio.
Below is the History on PHC Radio for the first year April 2005-2006
PHC Radio was an idea that four people had come up with in April 2005 by talking on Punk History Canada. As a result, PHC Radio was started in May 2005 by Putney, Hellbilly, Graham Mayhem, Frekwalda and myself SK8. When the four of us got the idea for PHC Radio in April, we did not want to spend money to start or run PHC Radio lol.
I best add to this not one of us knew FUCK ALL on making a internet radio station when we started PHC Radio. Ok that's not true Graham Mayhem had been a DJ on another internet radio station before PHC Radio was born lol. But we wanted to do it and in true Punk fashion we wanted it so we made it happen in a few weeks. It's the net we wanted to stream radio to everyone for free lol looking back on it now dumb ass comes to mind lol fuck we had no clue. All we wanted to do was play Canadian bands, both old and new, on the net and give Canadian Punk, Oi, SKA, Mod, Goth, Reggae, Rockabilly, Psychobilly, Metal and Hardcore, the airplay it so needed and deserved. So we looked at different ways to do it and in May 2005, we started to stream PHC Radio on a small business account Frekwalda and I have at home for gaming, and that's when Frekwalda officially signed on btw Frekwalda is my husband. Over time, we all got jobs / areas to cover as the radio is up 24/7. First off, we needed DJ's..........shit this was no easy task, more to starting a radio station than just playing tunes - lots of things to learn and set up fast. And I'm sure we’re not done learning yet! With help and information from Nicole, Steve, Neil and Ron, the four people who started Punk History Canada, our big sister site, things started to go a little easier. So an extra thank you to Nicole, you are a Goddess on a computer. Thank You Punk History Canada and everyone on PHC who helped us test the radio in the first few weeks, you gave us the help and room to make it work. Punk History Canada is fully our big sister site without it the idea for the radio would never have been born. That's why we called it PHC Radio.
By June of 2005, we found our net business account was not good enough to stream the radio from. You’d think it would be as its a business account (great for gaming). So we all talked on how to upgrade. We tried to avoid spending money, but that did not work. we had come to a time in the first weeks of the radio where one of the five of us had to spend money in order to make PHC Radio good to go. So, it was time to pay for a real stream provider or ditch the radio after only a few weeks. The main idea behind the radio was and is, to promote gigs and bands - old and new Punk, Oi, SKA, Rockabilly, Psychobilly, Mod, Reggae, Goth & Metal. None of us wanted to give up on that and on PHC Radio so soon, as we had a good idea and it showed it could work in a few short weeks! We wanted to do PHC Radio for 1 year then review it and see if the five of us or any of us wanted to keep it up or kill it.
So Putney decided he would pay for the radio stream for one year @ 48kbps, since he had no, DJ time slots due to his life and work. The rest of us would make sure the radio was up 24 / 7, 365 days and fix areas as need be and get the web page going. Then we would review it all and decide what to do after one year and that would be June 2006. Our vision was and is to have PHC Radio stable by then and try to bring in sponsors so it pays for itself as it is not cheep to stream a radio. None of us started PHC Radio to make money or spend money. We started it to play the bands we always loved and who never got airplay and to give the new bands a place to get played and open people up to new and old bands.
But to make a long story short, everyone found the radio to take way more effort and time than any of us had banked on! We had no idea going into it how much it would take over our lives. Putney once said it best: “The radio was like a drug when we started it, then about nine months into it I came down.” So after nine months of PHC Radio, we lost Putney. Hellbilly left next due to his work/ life and time as well. But he made us the template our main web page sits on, and we thank Hellbilly for that fully. Then Graham Mayhem left, due to his move and work and life. Putney did want to keep paying for the radio for the full year until June 2006 but we did not see the point as he was quitting the radio. So Frekwalda and I took over the payments for PHC Radio February 1 2006. First thing we did was up the stream rate to 96Kbps so we now netcast at almost CD quality.We will put it up to 128Kbps when we have the money for it. This shit is not cheap people, but still worth it as it plays bands from our past, as well as promoting the new bands and gigs of today. And not only bands from Canada, we play bands from all over this planet of ours. Eh.
PHC Radio was a collaborative idea from four people on Punk History Canada and it has grown and changed so much in the first year that I am shocked at what we have achieved. Nothing stays the same, life always changes. We thank Putney, Hellbilly and Graham Mayhem for starting the radio with us, as none of this would be good to go had the four of us not hooked up on PHC that day in April 2005. We each had something to give to make it work and we took a small idea and made it happen. PHC Radio takes more time and money to run than any of us had banked on when we first got the idea in April 2005. None of us are rich, but PHC Radio is an idea we want to keep working on and see how far we can take it. We thank you for starting PHC Radio with us.
Frekwalda and I talked, and since we are married it makes it easy to run PHC Radio together less emails to deal with as we are in the same house lol. We are happy to tell you all we are going to keep working on PHC Radio and keep it going as long as we can afford to. Yes it takes money and time no we are not rich but PHC Radio has come a long way in one year, we are at the point that the radio is stable unless we get a net fuck up.We also learned in the first year to bring in sponsors so it pays for itself was not easy to do and would not happen. We all had a vision of what we wanted the radio to do last April 2005.And PHC Radio is in that spot more or less. Sadly, people quit due to life and work but the vision remains the same and we grow, change and learn more and keep going.
Thank you to all the people who tune into PHC Radio you are showing us all the money, work and time we put into this worth it. Also thank you to all the people who send us Cd's and MP3's to help promote all your bands, we could not do the radio without your help.So many great bands you all send us who should but don't get airplay on AM or FM Radio it is sad, some things never change in 30 years. But that is what you will get on PHC Radio we play it all new and old bands. That's what PHC Radio is all about the old and the new bands and the gigs.

The Tune in on PHC Radio web page will not work for me it wants me too download a file? or The now playing says the radio is down is it? Fix plz?? #
This is a strange one I tested six different computers five would tune into the radio with the web page listen for winamp and one would not.This shit started out of the blue one fine day.
The computer that did not work what it did was ask me to open or save the listen file? I have no idea why this computer did this but I did find a fix for it
but you must have winamp installed for this to work.
If you get this then save the listen PLS file to desktop then right chick it with your mouse then go down to open with and from that pick open with winamp.
Once you get tuned into the radio with winamp then go to the top of winamp and go to file then go to
play bookmark and then pick add current as bookmark.This will bookmark PHC Radio in your winamp so next time you want to tune in just go to file in
winamp and you will see your PHC Radio bookmark click on it and you tune into PHC Radio its that easy.
Can I get songs from you that you play on PHC Radio? #
No sorry we do not give out any music EVER new or old. Some bands have a mp3 download on the bands web page others do not. Bands need to eat as well and work hard to get that Cd out so support the bands you love buy the Cd when you can afford it.Until then tune into PHC Radio.
Can I Dj for PHC Radio? #
No Sorry as of June 1 2006 we no longer have Dj's Way less work this way as we are not glued to the radio passing it to Dj's.This way we give you more bands less talk.
Dead link or You listed my band wrong? WTF #
If your band is listed wrong then just email the webmaster from the contact page with the correct info and I will change it.
If any link is dead or wrong please email me from our contact area and let me know so I can fix it.
Will PHC Radio play my band? #
Read our Schedule first and see if your band fits with what we play. If it does then contact the Program Director on the contact page with your bands webpage and band info. He will get back to you with details.
